Thugs beat up TV’s Donal MacIntyre

UNDERCOVER TV reporter Donal MacIntyre was beaten up by friends of Chelsea football hooligans he exposed NINE YEARS ago - even though he told them his wife has a brain tumour.

TV personality and former undercover reporter Donal MacIntyre has been beaten up in an East Molesey winebar in a suspected revenge attack for his expose on Chelsea football hooligans nine years ago.

MacIntyre, 43, who was the runner up in ITV’s Dancing on Ice competition this year, was attacked by four smartly dressed men in the Cloud 9 bar in Bridge Road on Wednesday evening (June 17, 2009).

He was also seen to faint after getting a small Chelsea tattoo as part of his documentary.

MacIntyre told the Sun newspaper that when he entered the bar, four men shouted “you grass, you snitch” at him. He said he was then knocked to the ground and his wife was hurt as she attempted to protect him. MacIntyre collapsed with concussion while talking to cops and was treated in hospital.

He told The Sun: “I’ve had kidnapping threats, been assaulted before, had my car trashed and I’ve had to move many times.

MacIntyre, who was left with a black eye and cut face, said: “The attack was clearly related to my investigation from 2000.” A witness from the bar added: “One guy specifically mentioned him turning over his mate Jason Marriner with sneaky tape recorders.” The footage, which appeared on TV series 'MacIntyre Undercover', resulted in Jason Marriner and Andy 'Nightmare' Frain being jailed for six and seven years..
